Viengsay Valdés, Prima Ballerina, Ballet Nacional de Cuba

Sunday 28 March at 2.45pm
at the Civil Service Club
13/15 Great Scotland Yard
London SW1A 2HJ

ALL BALLET ASSOCIATION members are invited to this meeting organised by the British Friends of the Ballet Nacional de Cuba at which David Bain will interview Viengsay Valdés. An international star, Viengsay has performed in galas around the world and recently performed with Washington Ballet in their new production of Don Quixote. Two days after this interview she will open the UK tour dancing Swan Lake with Carlos Acosta.

Great Scotland Yard (not to be confused with New Scotland Yard) runs between Northumberland Avenue and Whitehall. The nearest tube station is Embankmant. If coming from Northumberland Avenue the Club is on the right hand side of the street. The entrance is through a gate and a small courtyard (which has tables and chairs, depending on the weather!). Parking is free on Sundays but is very limited in the immediate area.

We need to provide Security with a list of names, so please let Janet Radenkovic know if you are coming (Radenks@aol.com). Please report to reception on arrival to have your name ticked off. If you have problems on arrival, Jan Fowler is the contact as far as the Club is concerned.

There will be a charge of £5 per person, which we will collect on the day, to pay for the venue and if there is any over it will be added to BFBNC appeal funds. We have booked a room from 2 p.m. There is a bar which serves lunch, drinks, coffee etc. if anyone wishes to arrive earlier or to stay afterwards. We look forward to seeing you there.
