Unfortunately, we have had to make some changes to our guests. As the Pre-professional students have been performing in The Nutcracker they have been given the week off to attend auditions, so our 2023 Award winners Yasemin Caynakfrom Turkey and Sigurd Blystadfrom Norway will be away. They will record a message to members, which we will make available later. However, Alejandro Muñozfrom Spain is able to attend and will be joined by two students from the second year, Layla Hothamand Pietro Zironi. Both have been recently injured, so are looking forward to the meeting. They will be escorted by Pre-Professional Year teacher Stuart Cassidy,who joined the School this September. Stuart has a long history with the School having joined the Junior Associates programme at Baron’s Court before joining White Lodge, then the Upper School. He joined The Royal Ballet in 1987 and was promoted to Principal within four years. He was picked by Sir Kenneth Macmillan to perform Romeo in his second year. In 1999, he left the company to join K Ballet in Tokyo, where he performed for over twenty years. He has since dedicated his career to teaching, though during Covid he trained as an estate agent. It is therefore a long time since members have had the opportunity to hear from Stuart. These meetings with students are always fascinating and this one with Stuart should be particularly so.
